Northern Cricket Frog

Acris crepitans

Description:

A small frog with relatively large back legs that allow them to jump very far away from you, making them quite hard to catch. The back legs have barring, and there is usually a white bar from the eye to the base of the foreleg. The skin can be a variety of colors, but it bumpy all over.

Habitat:

Found in North America near permanent bodies of water. These guys were pretty much at all the water sources we went to in the area, and we finally caught some by dip-netting.
