A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Sciurus niger
Largest of the north American squirrels is tan to light orange on the underside of the body and darker on top because of the visible black guard hairs that are interspersed through the tan/orange color on the upper part of the body. These animals are curious, agile and entertaining. They use their tail as a cover during harsh or wet weather.
