Feb 11, 2015 - ID updated to Delta esuriens following MarcoSelis' suggestion. ======= Potter wasps (or mason wasps) are a cosmopolitan wasp group presently treated as a subfamily of Vespidae, but sometimes recognized in the past as a separate family, Eumenidae. Delta companiforme gracilior (Giordani Soika, 1986), with distribution in India (Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, West Bengal), Australia, Egypt, Indonesia (Sulawesi), Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Senegal, Sumatra, Thailand.
Backyard garden, spotted nectaring on Duranta erecta (Golden Dewdrop) flowers.

This isn't D. campaniforme, but a similar species: D. esuriens.
