Mound is about 2 feet in diameter

Habitat:

Several mounds were spotted on dead trees in the forest.

Notes:

The protection offered by termite mounts is thought to have protected the termites from the tragedy that contributed to the extinction of the dinosaurs caused by the meteor impact.

Added to the Animal Architecture Mission per request. Also added comment that the mounds may have contributed to the survival of termites after the meteor impact that contributed to the extinction of the dinosaurs.
