Pine False Looper Moth

Zale duplicata

Description:

Medium sized moth. Very dark, gray, warm browns with black zig-zag coloration. Scalloped edges to wings. Prominent furry "hump" and ridges along dorsal abdomen.

Habitat:

Woodlands. Connetquot State Park, NY. Resting on a tree next to the trail.

Notes:

Really pretty moth with stegosaurus bumps on the back! ;-)
