American Kestrel

Falco sparverius

Description:

Not a great picture, but the markings are unmistakable. It's been a couple of months since last I saw one of the kestrels in this hawking hot spot. I had assumed that the RTHs had chased them off. Glad to see one again! (To compare to my last sighting here see http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/193...)

Notes:

Spotted on a telephone pole in an uncultivated area next to a mining operation in Kennesaw, GA
