Armillaria - mature

Armillaria hinnulea

Description:

Mature specimens of Armillaria hinnulea show olive-green caps with dark granular material on the centres. Gills were a pale cream as was the stipe, which showed delicate striations up to a fragile annulus. Spore print was a pale cream.

Habitat:

Spotted in the same wet gully a few feet away from the immature fungi in a previous spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/250... These were growing near a walking track

Notes:

A parasitic fungus seen only in Australia and New Zealand.
