Galah

Eolophus roseicapilla

Description:

Large flock browsing on sporting green, joined by a solitary Long Billed Corella (Cacatua tenuirostris)

Habitat:

Open grasslands

Notes:

I haven't personally seen such a large group in inner Melbourne before. You can see more little flocks in the background. Apparently it's not unusual for them to browse with corellas. It is also the first time I've seen a corella without companions of its own species. Sporting field in Royal Park, Parkville.
