Armyworm caterillar

Spodoptera sp.

Description:

About 40mm long, this very plain looking fat caterpillar was climbing the inside walls in our laundry. Very slow and unresponsive. Winter has just begun so I suspect it has come in from the back yard looking for a safer place to wait for Spring !?

Habitat:

Internal wall of outer suburban home.

Notes:

Possibly Spodoptera mauritia.
