Painted Bronzeback

Dendrelaphis pictus

Description:

long, about 1m (3'), slender, yellow belly, dark brown/black above

Habitat:

forest edge

Notes:

I spotted this snake perched in a shrub at about waist height, along the road through Baluran national park. A number of cars passed me after I spotted this snake but I pretended that I was photographing something else when they passed, so they wouldn't disturb it. No one in any of the vehicles even noticed the snake. After a few close up shots, the snake wasn't happy with me and began to leave it's perch.

You're welcome, Dan. I often try to find those kind of links. :-)

Thanks for the ID Scott. That's cool that the link is from the same place I spotted it.
