Small Tortoiseshell

Aglais urticae

Description:

The only butterfly I saw on this trip, it was cold and windy with clouds that often covered the sun and I was pretty suprised in seen it. It stood very still on the rocky path, bathing in the little sunlight and the heat the rocks let out.

Habitat:

rocky terrain just under a high mountain at 1500 met. above sea level

Really? It is one of the most common ones in Europe...
Actual scientific name is Aglais urticae. The names in the wiki links are not precise.
