Eastern Sedge Frog

Litoria fallax

Description:

Also called Eastern Dwarf Tree Frog. This one shows another colour form of the species - a pale pink/grey, facial stripes still evident, speckling or flecks over body, lighter belly area, this one also had some orange on inner thighs. Approx 20mm long, call is a high pitched repeated ratchet sound. Feeds on small insects.

Habitat:

Found in eastern Australia in coastal regions. This one in garden setting adjacent to dry woodland environment on cycad plant.

Notes:

There were many of these frogs in a small section of the garden. Unfortunately a flock of peafowl from a neighbouring property swept through and very few of the frogs are evident now even 6 months later. A larger colony exists near a dam hidden in the dry woodland on the property.
