Buprestis rufipes
This is one of the Metallic Wood-boring Beetles (Family Buprestidae). Metallic green above with characteristic yellow marks; underparts also green. Legs red or reddish brown. Length is 18-25 mm.
This one was crawling on an oak tree at the edge of a southern deciduous forest in the midlands of South Carolina.

Got one in NE Oklahoma
This is the first time that I have ever observed this beetle. Therefore, I selected it to be my 500th spotting on Project Noah.
