Description:

Large moth. Wing span about 4 inches or more Prominent eye like design on both wings. Brownish in colour.

Notes:

I took this photo in broad daylight and the insect did not budge at all even when i got very close, suggesting that it was asleep. Likely this one is a night flying insect.

Yes, the eye markings are remarkable and also seem to have given its name to this moth.

Nuwan. Thanks for the suggestion. I think its spot on. Found a few more spottings that look alike and in the same geographic location.
