Mycena aff. acicula

Mycena aff. acicula

Description:

This tiny but pretty fungus, about 5mm across the cap, was on a stem about 50mm tall. All orange and yellow except for simple white gills.

Habitat:

Among grasses and leaf litter in a local nature reserve.

Notes:

Yet to find species. This was found in the same area about a year ago and remains unidentified. It looks similar to a few others (like Rickenella fibula) but is smaller. Also the gills meet the stem in a different fashion so possibly should look at mycenas or marasmius.
Mycena aff. acicula is closest so far but not recorded in Australia ?
