Description:

Upperside is dark brown; forewing may have 2 very faint light spots. Underside of hindwing is yellow-brown with lighter veins.

Habitat:

Grassy, open areas such as sand barrens, meadows, hillsides, fields. Eastern United States from Missouri east to southern New York; south to eastern Texas, the Gulf states, and southern Florida. Strays north to northern Minnesota, southern Michigan, and western Kansas.

Yes, thanks Mark. I'm thinking that it's a Swarthy Skipper, Nastra lherminier, but am not 100% sure. It's my best guess so far. Anyone who might know better, please correct me if I'm wrong :)
