Spotting

Description:

This pair of small orange damselflies are flying in tandem as a first step in the mating process - getting to know each other. They are very slender and only about 1.5 inches long. I think they might be Orange Bluets but would appreciate some confirmation.

Habitat:

On an algae pad floating in a freshwater inland canal in western Boca Raton, FL

Notes:

They have been flying like this for about 3 days and though I see the female start to curl her abdomen towards the male, she has not completed the process yes. I am waiting for them to get into the true heart-shaped or "wheel" posture that represents mating.
