Stercorarius skua
The Great Skua breads on coastal moorland nests right on the ground. It usually lays two spotted olive-brown eggs. Only one egg was found in this nest. Like other skuas, it will fly at the head of a human or other intruder approaching its nest. These pictures were taken at Ingólfshöfði, Iceland, part of the largest breeding ground in the world for the Great Skua.
