Pleurotus ostreatus
Agaric oyster mushrooms. Large caps up to approx. 15 cms in diameter and white in appearance. Caps also translucent and when viewed from below, and the gills are white with faint peach/pinkish hue. Clustered on tree trunk. Gills run down the length of the stipe and taper in thickness to the base. Another possible contender for this spotting is Omphalotus nidiformis, a toxic lookalike found in Australia and Japan. This similar species also glows in the dark.

If this is the case and these are Ghost Fungus, there is a simple way of finding out: go there at night and see if they light up. Omphalotus nidiformis is a bioluminescent mushroom.
Thanks, CorduneanuVlad. I think you may be right, but another possibility is Omphalotus nidiformis. Both are found in the Sydney region. Cheers for the suggestion.
