Scarletina Bolete?

Boletus luridiformis?

Description:

growing under oak. there are probably much better videos of Boletus luridiformis turning blue on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H21yzh2RX... an exciting find for me. B. luridiformis is 'edible but not recommended' and is probably easily confused with B. satanus which can make people violently sick according to wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boletus_sat... supposedly B. luridiformis has a smooth stem whilst B. satanus and B. luridis have 'reticulation' on their stems. Also B. satanus has a paler cap.

Notes:

gc - i have a sample

wow! I didn't notice that <3! I've seen people draw on the pores on the underside of these boletes before so I tried it. It was satisfying!
