Glaucous Cracker

Hamadryas glauconome

Description:

This butterfly was on the gravel along the highway. It was so well hidden that I almost stepped on it. When it flew, I followed it to get some pictures. Family Nymphalidae. I have also seen this hidden on a tree trunk in the Sumidero Canyon, Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas.

Habitat:

Along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
