A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Cyanocitta cristata
The jay is about 1 foot long from head to tail. The plumage blue in the crest, back, wings, and tail, and its face is white. It does not like to be exposed in the open. It quickly darts into trees and bushes.
Backyard habitat with losts of bush and tree cover.
Picture shot through a window. Whenever I tried to get outside the jays flew into cover. The jays stay with us all summer.
