Stelgidopteryx serripennis
Their breeding habitat is near streams, lakes and river banks across North America. They nest in cavities near water, usually a burrow in dirt; they do not usually form colonies. It appeared that the male was presenting various bits of nesting material to the female for approval.

Thank you, venusflytrap2000 and Neil! I watched this pair for quite a long time as the male seemed tireless in searching out bits of nesting material to present to his mate.
