Description:

Brown and white Skipper with an approximately 3 cm wing span. It stayed low to the ground and was fast and nervous. Seems to be the White Checkered Skipper (Pyrgus albescens). Family Hesperiidae.

Habitat:

North Bluff Trail, Santa Cruz Island, Channel Islands, California. On the ground.
