Osprey is about 24" (60 cm) with up to a 5 1/2 foot wingspan. Large-eagle-like bird with white chest and belly, black back. White head with a black streak through the eyes. It is the only raptor that plunges into water feet first to catch fish.
This osprey was perched in a tree overlooking the pond at Muddy run Park in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
