Description:

Small hoverfly, circa 1 cm long, of the Syrphidae family. It mimics the solitary wasp, though it is a quite harmless species. The upper side of the abdomen is patterned with orange and black bands.

Habitat:

On Thapsia villosa, pine tree and Holm oak forest
