An elegant slim small pigeon, mainly cinnamon-brown with blue-grey wing covers and rufous scaled breast band.
This a resident breeder in most of sub-Saharan Africa (and Middle-East and India), and found mostly in open country (including urban) - and it avoids forests. Here, observed, iin abundance, in urban environments of Abuja and Minna (capital of Niger State of NIgeria).
