Sphinx Moth

Acosmeryx sp

Description:

6cm wide leafy moth with grey brown and brown pattern on the fore wings and red brown on the rear. Underside is pinkish

Habitat:

light bollard beside apartment gardens at night. In an area of suburbia surrounded by exotics and remnant coastal dry forest as well as swamp

Notes:

#leafy leaf moth, a lot of the moths online look similar but still looking I am claiming this is one of the Hawk Moths although it is only known far north of here. Changed to Sphinx moth and with the genus only

Concern about this id. This species is not recorded less than 1000 to 1500k kilometres north of here
