Description:

Family: Erebidae, Subfamily: Erebinae. Underwings. Length: 47 mm. Wingspan: 82 mm. Common. Peppery FW is variable, but typically gray with jagged AM and PM lines bordered with darker brown bands. Median area is often paler. Reniform spot if boldly outlined white or all white. Black basal dash is usually present. HW is reddish/orange with irregular black bands and pale orange fringe. Host: Oak tree.

Habitat:

Woodlands. Came to light.
