Greater Necklaced Laughing Thrush

Garrulax pectoralis

Description:

Medium sized bird (say like a jungle babbler) black "necklace " which delineates a white bib.

Habitat:

Suntaley Khola is a remote hilly and forested area by the River Murty in the Dooars region of West Bengal, India. This species was seen in the garden of the resort. It was a rainy dawn, the sky was overcast and the light was poor. A group of these birds descended on the tall tree for breakfast and I got a crick in the neck and these rather poor quality shots (apologies). However, I saw that there is only one other sighting of this bird on PN so am emboldened to put up these...also because this species is a lifer for me.

Notes:

Best seen as thumbnail...sorry.
