Australian Hobby

Falco longipennis

Description:

I am unsure if this is a juvenile or which subspecies this is. "Generally the hobby displays a black cap and mask with a whitish forehead and half-collar. Underparts can be blue-grey or rufous and streaked darker. The cere in adults is a pale yellowish grey, the eye ring is pale blue, the eyes are brown and the feet are dull yellow." (Wiki) Young birds generally have darker plumage.

Habitat:

Perched in a Boab Tree (Adansonia gregorii) just down the road from the prison boab tree and long trough.

Notes:

This is a first for me! Any help on narrowing this down is appreciated!!! Reference: http://birdlife.org.au/bird-profile/aust...
