Red-backed Fairy-wren

Malurus melanocephalus cruentatus

Description:

This beautiful, tiny little bird I think, is a female. Females are essentially brown above and white below.

Habitat:

Hanging around the small trees along the edge of the water on the town side of the Long Trough (near the Prison Boab Tree). The small trees are off to the right of the pic 2.

Notes:

This little one was hanging about with about 6 or 7 others which included a male in eclipse plumage.
