Titan triggerfish

Balistoides viridescens

Description:

This triggerfish is very territorial with his nest. If you are too close he will follow you non stop if you go towards the surface. Always dive in parallel to the water and away from his nest and then you will escape. Otherwise you may suffer a serious bite. Otherwise they are cute to look at (always within a certain distance).

Habitat:

Coral reef

Ha, must have been my subconscious warning me while snorkeling.

Did you hear them? :)

These guys are actually feisty and can give you a serious bite if you happen to be too close to their nest on the floor. So always better to keep a safe distance :-)
