Pigeon tremex

Tremex columba

Description:

large insect, a species of horntail, see last photo for scale

Habitat:

urban

Notes:

I spotted this insect for the first time ever on my shed in my backyard this summer. I was blown away to see such a large and nasty looking insect. It was fairly calm though, just walking up the wall of my shed.
