I spotted these insects on the underside of a leaf while hiking with fellow ranger ForestDragon in Short Hills provincial park.

Correction from Bug Guide, these are Psyllids. I don't know the species but they seem to look similar to genus Hemitrioza: http://bugguide.net/node/view/353956/bgp...
I don't feel confident to call it for that genus either.
According to BugGuide they are aphids. I don't have anything further than that unfortunately.

Yeah, I thought that too. I'm going to look through my photos, see if I can find one of the upperside of the leaf.
Do you have any idea what was the plant on which you found these? That would be very helpful for an identification of these creatures.
