Mushroom

Boletus calopus

Description:

Take a good look at the photo. How many caps can you find? It's the game of looking for Waldo!! I had a hard time trying to figure out how many there were in that spot! It was a clearing in the woods and it had rained for a solid week prior, so they were vigorous to say the least. Extremely large brown caps.

Well, I was close. Sounds like a fungi hotspot.

There's actually a seventh one, just between the center two trees.. (sappling on the left).. maybe 20 feet behind.. but its hard to see ..there we all over the place that day.. it had rained for two weeks straight prior to our visit up there.. What a wonderful trip.. that path to the Triads from Jordan pond I've found most of the fungi photographed that year!!

I see 6 caps. I think you're right on the species. Do you have any close up pics?
