Hypolimnas alimena
The blue-banded eggfly is a species of butterfly in the Nymphalidae family. It is found in the Solomon Islands, New Guinea, Aru and Kei Islands (Maluku, Indonesia), and Australia (coast of New South Wales, Northern Territory and Queensland). Wingspan: 80–90 mm. The background colour of the wings is black with a row of white dots and a blue band. The larvae feed on Pseuderanthemum variabile, Asystasia gangetica and Graptophyllum pictum.
Observed in a large semi-urban yard/garden. There is an adjacent patch of forest.
