Delichon urbica
A small, agile bird with a forked tail, glossy blueish black feathers and a white belly and rump. Can be mistaken for a swallow, but lacks the red bib and the tail is less forked. Can be found nesting under the eaves of buildings, such as this one.
Open country with low vegetation, such as pasture, meadows and farmland, and preferably near water.
Spotted under the eaves of a house in Bellagio, next to Lake Como. There were some flitting around, but this one caught my attention because he kept chirping from his nest. I think it's a fledgling!
