Furrow spider

Larinoides

Description:

large brown abdomen, it's fighting with a japanese beetle

Habitat:

the wall of my house

Notes:

I spotted this on the outside wall of my house. The japanese beetle was vigorously fighting the spider but appeared to be latched onto the spiders leg. The spider brought it under the siding before I could get more shots.

Thanks Amber but I'm think the head doesn't match so well. My spotting appears to be hairy where as the hammock spider appears smooth. What do you think?

I think this is a hammock spider
