Band-Winged Grasshopper

Oedipodinae

Description:

I heard this grasshopper fly away when I was walking on the trail along the Oakland Estuary. I almost could not find it because it was so well camouflaged in the dirt. It was only about 1.5 inches long.

Habitat:

Oakland Estuary trail path.
