Cupmoth (empty larva cases)

Doratifera vulnerans

Description:

The mottled cupmoth pupates inside these cups. This group has pupated communally which is fairly uncommon. Not that it has done them any good at all since they seem to have been raided by a hungry and happy predator. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/184...

Habitat:

On the stem of a small eucalyptus. I must look for cats on this tree.

Thanks Maria dB
I have never seen so many cups so close together, although single ones are not uncommon.
