Pale smartweed

Persicaria lapathifolia

Description:

Small plant with long narrow leaves and long thin clusters of pink ?flowers or perhaps seeds. About 30cm tall, leaves 10-20cm long, pink clusters about same length as leaves.

Habitat:

Growing in river / flood area in subtropical suburban park.

Notes:

Plant search suggested a knotweed? Don’t recall having seen one before.

Yes lots of floods especially right where it is growing!

Yes it looks like Persicaria lapathifolia, Pale smartweed.. loves floods and you've had a few in the last 12 months?
