Description:

Large black horned beetle known to make hissing noise when disturbed, with presumably the female lacking horns. About 10cm in length and prone to flying clumsily into buildings and people at night.

Habitat:

Scrubland and forest floor. Subtropical.

I've always thought this was a rhinoceros beetle for some reason, but had a feeling I was wrong!
