Carolina Wolf Spider

Hogna carolinensis

Description:

A typical wolf spider with her egg. The body is basically gray with black patterns on the back. This species is the largest of the wolf spiders.

Habitat:

This spider was living in a hole in a fencerow in rural Southeastern Texas.

Notes:

I caught this particular spider out looking around several times during my stay with my daughter there.
