Project Noah Nature School
Araneus trifolium vs. Danaus plexippus
The saddest photo I had to take.
Meadow in the Poconos!
I just posted two more photos of me and the Monarch less than 1/2 hour before she got caught again.
I'm glad you did - nature can seem cruel but every creature is just doing what it needs to survive. The butterfly died, but the spider got it's lunch!
It is sad for the butterfly, but fascinating. Good photos!
I didn't even want to photograph this. I did it to show the amazing strength of the web and how quickly a spider works to wrap its victim and because it is a very unusual sight.
Wow, I wouldn't want to be a butterfly in your yard Carol - it's treacherous! :)
