It is about 81 centimetres (32 in) long, of which more than half is the pointed, graduated tail typical of all macaws, though the Scarlet Macaw has a larger percentage of tail than the other large Macaws. The average weight is about 1 kilogram (2.2 lb).
There is a large population of macaws in this area. this area is mostly untouched forest. These birds are in a mango tree. There were probably 30 pairs in this group.

this area has a plethora of tourism. While this colony is located on the south side of the Golfo Dulce there is myriad guacamayas on the north side of the golfo in one of the largest reserves in Costa Rica on the Osa Peninsula. This is one of the most biologically diverse places on earth.

In Coiba Island in Panama there is also some colonies. Poor macaws..I hope they can do some living safe from poachers..
