Kea (Nestor Notabilis)
Alpine/sub-alpine scree/scrub etc.
The wonderful Kea, the Alpine Parrot of New Zealand. The first photo is of a fledgling that we caught and banded as part of population research. The second is of an adult seen from a distance which has already been tagged and banded. Third is a silhouetted Kea against the sky. For more information on the Kea population surveys, check out www.keaconservation.co.nz

The second image is beautiful!
Whoops. The 2nd and 3rd photos will be of the same bird - but the fledgling is obviously not the same bird!!
Hi Andy. Welcome to Project Noah. Actually you've got 3 spottings there, it doesn't matter that they're the same species. If they were the same individual, then they should be combined. Thanks
