Alpine/sub-alpine scree/scrub etc.

The wonderful Kea, the Alpine Parrot of New Zealand. The first photo is of a fledgling that we caught and banded as part of population research. The second is of an adult seen from a distance which has already been tagged and banded. Third is a silhouetted Kea against the sky. For more information on the Kea population surveys, check out

Whoops. The 2nd and 3rd photos will be of the same bird - but the fledgling is obviously not the same bird!!
