Banded Boxer Shrimp

Description:

Also known as Banded Boxing Shrimp, Coral Banded Boxing Shrimp, Banded Coral Shrimp, Red-banded Coral Shrimp, Banded Coral Cleaner Shrimp, Banded Cleaner Shrimp and Barber-pole Shrimp. They wave their antennae to attract fish. They feed on parasites, algae and plankton, and grow to a length of about 5cm.

Habitat:

Found on reefs and sponges waiting for customers to clean. Often seen in groups or crawling over (cleaning) fish and eels. This is a circumtropical species.
