Little Wood Satyr

Megisto cymela

Description:

very faded markings, has seen better days

Habitat:

temperate forest

Notes:

I spotted this butterfly along the trail in Short Hills provincial park. It must have been nearing the end of its life. It was flying low and slow and I merely had to put out my hand for it to land on it.
