A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Anaxyrus cognatus
Although a fairly large species of toad, all the ones I've found have been medium sized (2-2.5 inches). They generally have a gray body color with black spots on the back and a while line down the middle of the dorsum from between the eyes to the cloaca.
These were all found in urban settings near fences, foundations, etc. They are numerous throughout Nebraska.
Favorite with the grandkids. There seem to be at least a half dozen living in their back yard.
